A Seattle-based cannabis company is exploring the idea of opening a manufacturing facility on Cranberry Highway, after it held a community outreach meeting on March 10.

ASV MA Operating Inc. held a public meeting last week to hear questions and present its proposal, per the state’s Cannabis Control Commission requirements. According to a notice of the meeting, the company plans to operate a marijuana manufacturer at 3065 Cranberry Highway.

The president of ASV MA is Marcus Charles, according to the company’s 2021 annual report, and he’s dabbled in marijuana entrepreneurship before. Charles co-founded Juju Joints in 2013, electric, disposable joints that contain cannabis oil and THC, according to his Wikipedia page. ASV MA is headquartered in Seattle, state filings show.

Charles’ LinkedIn page indicates the businessman is no stranger to entrepreneurship — his page states that he’s invested in more than 15 start-ups over the last 23 years. 

Before a marijuana establishment opens for business in Massachusetts, it must hold a community outreach meeting, sign a community host agreement, submit an application for appropriate licensing, receive approval and be inspected several times by the state.
