The Board of Selectmen discussed adding two new articles to upcoming Town Meeting warrants during a Feb. 23 meeting.

One article would create a “Renewable Energy Bylaw Study Committee” to explore a bylaw that would restrict renewable energy developments including solar fields and wind farms. Selectman Peter Teitelbaum said he hoped to prepare a draft of the article in time to get it on the spring Town Meeting warrant.

The spring Town Meeting is scheduled for April 26, and the warrant will be closed Tuesday, March 2.

A second article would limit marijuana delivery operators in Wareham. Town Counsel Richard Bowen was asked to look into what authority the town has to regulate cannabis delivery, and an article for this — if one is possible — would likely be put on the special Town Meeting warrant.  

The special Town Meeting is currently scheduled for April 10.
