The state Division of Marine Fisheries will reopen shellfishing as of Nov. 1.

The only areas that will remain closed will be the areas in town classified as a "rainfall management area." Those areas are Broad Marsh River, Sunset Cove, and Miller's Cove.

The rainfall management area closure status can be obtained by calling 508-291-3100 ext. 3184.

The Division of Marine Fisheries had shut down shellfishing in anticipation of poor water quality following Hurricane Sandy.
