Slow Love author to visit Mattapoisett Library

May 24, 2010

Author and former Editor-in-Chief of House & Garden magazine Dominique Browning will be speaking at the Mattapoisett Free Public Library on Wednesday, June 2 at 7 p.m. She has just released her new book "Slow Love: How I Lost My Job, Put on My Pajamas, and Found Happiness" to wide acclaim, and she will be reading from it at the library.

After years in a high-powered Conde Nast position in New York, and a glamorous life outside of work, Browning found herself abruptly without a job. Other life-changing losses followed, which cause her to take stock and spend some time examining her life. Her memoir is the result of this time taken to reflect and, with heart and humor, she shares her self-discovery with her readers.

This program will touch anyone who has ever awakened one morning to find himself jobless or who has decided in mid-life to re-direct the course of her life and work.

Copies of Browning's book will be available for purchase and signing. Light refreshments will be served. The Library is located at 7 Barstow Street off Route 6. For more information please call 508-758-4171.
