Snow piling up on roads as storm strikes

Apr 4, 2016

A spring snowstorm caused headaches for commuters and first responders Monday afternoon as slick roads led to a flurry of accidents.

Police responded to a rollover accident on Route 25 and a school bus accident on Minot Avenue near the Brandy Hill Apartments entrance.

According to initial emergency broadcasts, a car struck the school bus shortly after it left Minot Elementary School. No injuries were reported.

No further information is available about the rollover at this time.

The storm is expected to worsen into the evening with 5 to 8 inches of snow predicted. The National Weather Service issued an advisory that warned heavy to moderate snow will continue and result in deteriorating road conditions. Along the South Coast, the snow included a mix of sleet and freezing.
