Southcoast Health to offer variety of free programs in January
Southcoast Health will offer a variety of free programs in the upcoming months in Wareham.
Bereavement program
On Tuesday, January 13, the Southcoast Visiting Nurse Association, known in the community as Southcoast VNA, will offer free bereavement programs for grieving adults.
General Bereavement Groups are designed for adults grieving the loss of a loved one.
The program will be held at the Tobey Hospital Library from 1 to 2:15 p.m.
Maternity Services
Southcoast Health’s Maternity Services will offer a free Early Pregnancy Education Program for women who are planning to become pregnant or are early on in their pregnancy on Tuesday, January 13. The program will help women lay the foundation for a healthy pregnancy, birth and post-partum experience.
This program, which is made possible through a grant received by the Makepeace Neighborhood Fund, will be from 6 to 8 p.m. at Tobey Hospital. Healthy snacks and a free book will be provided to each participant. Registration is required. For more information or to register, call 508-273-4151.
Bariatric Surgery informational session
The Southcoast Center for Weight Loss will offer free informational sessions on the risks and benefits of weight loss surgery, also known as bariatric surgery, on Tuesday, January 27, at 6:30 p.m. at Tobey Hospital in the Operating Room Waiting Room.
Weight Management Informational Sessions
Southcoast Center for Weight Loss will offer a free weight management informational sessions on Thursday, January 22 at 4 p.m.
The informational sessions will review the different non-surgical weight loss options offered at the Southcoast Center for Weight Loss. The sessions will include information on Optifast, a weight loss program which combines lifestyle education, meal replacements, medical management and individual and group counseling. The sessions will also include information on a non-meal replacement option program called 3C’s for Success (Commit, Challenge, Change).
The session will be held at the Rosebrook Medical Office Building in the 3rd Floor Conference Room at 100 Rosebrook Way. For more information or to register for an informational session, call 508-525-3114.
