The Massachusetts Division of Marine Fisheries has requested that the use of mechanical beach groomers be restricted on all Wareham beaches from May 1 through June 30 to protect horseshoe crab spawning habitats.

The Town of Wareham and its residents will be unable to groom the Wareham beaches with the mechanical groomers in an effort to protect horseshoe crab eggs.
