Students say farewell, for now
Even after getting on a plane to go back home, some Chinese exchange students were texting their American host families days after leaving.
The group of tenth-graders that stayed in Wareham for the past three weeks on a Global Exchange Program said their farewells as a group on Friday.
The 17 high school students and some of their host families spent time after-school watching a slideshow of pictures put together by the hosts. Host families videotaped their own messages to the students they hosted.
A short ceremony was held where students, American and Chinese, were given certificates to recognize their experience and participation.
The students left for China on Saturday morning.
There will be more exchange students hosted in Wareham from numerous countries throughout the year and host families are always needed.
