An Onset man was arrested Thursday in connection with earlier unarmed robbery at the East Wareham Walmart, according to Wareham Police.

At 12:15 p.m. on Oct. 12, Wareham police were called to Walmart after a man reportedly robbed a cash register of an undetermined amount of cash, then fled on foot.

Police said the man was unarmed and did not disguise himself during the incident. But initial search of the area did yield results.

An investigation by Wareham Police with assistance provided by Walmart, led to the suspect being identified as 32-year-old Nathan Hufnagle of Onset.

Hufnagle was arrested without incident at his job in Duxbury on Thursday afternoon, according to police.

Hufnagle is currently being held at the Wareham Police Department. He is scheduled to be arraigned in Wareham District Court on Friday, Oct. 24, on one charge of unarmed robbery.

Interim Police Chief Kevin Walsh praised the cooperative efforts of patrol officers, detectives, and Walmart loss prevention employees during the initial response and subsequent investigation of this incident.
