Swifts Beach celebrates Independence Day with parade

Jul 4, 2016

Patriots of all ages participated in the Swifts Beach Improvement Association’s annual Fourth of July Parade on Monday.

Kids riding bikes decked out in red, white and blue pedaled alongside pirates, pups and even a float that blasted music (and the occasional firework) down Pleasant Street and Swifts Beach road in the tight-knit community.

Association President Raymond Davies said the small parade is always a big hit with residents.

“Everyone really gets into the spirit,” said Davies. “And those that don’t participate enjoy seeing the marchers walk by.”
