To the Editor:

Thanks to community generosity and Taste Japan, Turning Point Day Resource Center for the Homeless & Nearly Homeless received $1,225 and Wareham High School’s Best Buddies and the Trey Miranda Family each received $1,000. The Massachusetts Children’s Relief also fulfilled its annual tradition, sharing prepared dishes with the Kendrick House for Veterans and filling the Church of Good Shepherd’s pantry with fresh fish, chicken, fruits and veggies, along with non-perishable items.

Since its inception, Massachusetts Children’s Relief has raised $46,000 for Turning Point, along with goods to support Turning Point families and our Katrina Kids. More than $12,000 has been shared with Katrina Kids in Slidell, Louisiana, the Boys & Girls Club, Onset Youth Center, Guyan Rescue (Hurricane Sandy and Oklahoma tornado relief), Best Buddies and individual local kids in cancer treatment.  Massachusetts Children’s Relief is grateful for the ongoing inspiration and support of Nicole Miceli and the Salerno family, and to Renee Walsh for stepping up to the plate in time of need and filling it with sumptuous, memorable dishes.
