Teens arrested for armed robbery
Two seventeen-year-old Wareham residents were arrested Tuesday, March 23, and charged with armed robbery.
According to police, the armed robbery occurred at approximately 9 p.m. on Monday, March 22, at Cape Cod Gas, 3037 Cranberry Highway. The victim told police that two male suspects wearing hoods approached him and demanded cash. One was armed with a knife; one with a gun. During the robbery, the victim was assaulted by the male wielding the knife. Both suspects fled on foot after stealing an undetermined amount of cash. The victim told police that he recognized both men as frequent customers who come in on a daily basis to buy cigarettes. He didn't know their names but was quite certain they lived in the area.
In less than 48 hours, Wareham Detectives had identified both suspects. A search warrant was executed at Lakeside Trailer Park, 3030 Cranberry Highway, the residence of seventeen-year-old Zacahary Perocchi. Police found cash, drugs, and drug packaging materials. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Wareham Police Station.
A short time later, a second suspect, seventeen-year-old Brandon Pratt, of 3033 Cranberry Highway, was arrested on a warrant and transported to the station. Both men are charged with Armed Robbery and Assault by means of a Dangerous Weapon. Perocchi has an additional charge of possession of a Class D substance with intent to distribute.
Both men appeared at Wareham District court Friday, March 25, for a dangerousness hearing and are currently being held at the Plymouth County House of Correction without bail. They will return to court at a later date.
