Theodore Aloysius “Ted” Carrigan, 78
Theodore Aloysius “Ted” Carrigan passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2022, after a brief battle with cancer. Ted was born June 19, 1943, to Theodore and Olga (Kimpan) Carrigan of St Pete, FL.
After graduating from Northeast High School (St. Pete, FL), he joined the US Coast Guard and served aboard the USCGC Cowslip from 1962-1966. Upon honorable discharge, he moved to Portland, ME where he married Emma Toppi. He became an Ironworker for Local Union 327. After years of steelwork he moved on to become a Boilermaker for Local Union 29. He traveled all over the US for his work.
In 2014, he retired and settled down in Buzzards Bay, with his partner of 25 years Rosalie “Rose” Tribou. Ted was a Golden Eagle, a lifetime member of the Elks, and a member of the American Legion. He liked all forms of gambling, playing scat with his family, pull tickets, slot machines, keno, clam bam bingo, or the Elk’s meat raffle. He was intrigued by lighthouses and cranberry bogs. And any type of job that involved a crane or steel work…he would say “Ohhh look at that!” and pull over his car to assess the job site. He loved relaxing on the couch, watching TV, and drinking Bud Lights! Ted loved all dogs but especially his dogs Copper and Scrappy. He spent many days on the deck with them, watching birds eat from his feeders. His favorite things to do included clamming, boating in Buzzards Bay, family vacations in Maine, daily phone conversations with his best friend Mike Ward, and most importantly spending time with his family and friends.
Ted is survived by his daughter Krista Carrigan of Gorham, ME, his son Craig Carrigan of Portland, ME; his granddaughter Tatum Philbrook of Gorham, ME; his partner Rose Tribou of Buzzards Bay, and her family, daughter Danielle Tribou and daughter-in-law Jenn Follett of Wareham, daughter Jennifer Tribou and son-in-law Shawn Towne and their daughter Elizabeth of Bourne; his sisters Diana Schabert and husband Terry of Fredericksburg, VA and Jeannie Girvin and husband Tom of Parish, FL; his brother Michael Carrigan and Becky of Sanibel, FL, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. He will be joining his grandson Alex Floridino, sister Gundy Williams as well as his parents and many friends in Heaven.
