Suit up in life jackets and don't fold under the pressure: the annual kayak poker run returns.
Those interested in the competitive watersport can attend the Onset Bay Association's Kayak Poker Run. Participants will pick up five cards while paddling around Onset Bay. Once returned each person will have the opportunity to discard up to five cards and purchase new ones for $2 per card.
The event starts at Shell Point Beach Saturday, June 28 at 9 a.m. and is $25 per entrant.

Trail trimmin’ at Redbrook
Clip, trim and prune and pull invasive plants at the Redbrook Trail Network with the Wareham Land Trust Saturday, June 28 from 9 to 11 a.m.
Tools will be provided by the land trust but volunteers can bring their own if they wish. Organizers recommend volunteers bring sunscreen, water, bug spray and appropriate woods attire.
Volunteers will meet at the Onset Water Department Office at 15 Sand Pond Road before driving out into the trail network.

Local musician returns
Grace Morrison will be performing at the Wareham Free Library Monday, June 30 at 7 p.m. She will be performing songs from her latest album “Saltwater Country.”
Entry to the concert will be a donation to Damien’s Food Pantry and if the weather is bad, the concert will be held inside the library located at 59 Marion Road.

Get wild with animals
Wild sides will be let out with Joys of Nature at the Wareham Free Library located at 59 Marion Road on Tuesday, July 2 from 2 to 3 p.m.
This is an educational program for kids and families, where participants will get up close and personal with wild animals Participants will discover how animals find food, avoid predators, and thrive in places with either very little water or way too much.
This program is free and no registration is required.
Shakespearean sonnets
What’s shakin’ Shakesphere? The Watermelon Alligator Theatre Company performing “Short Attention Span Shakespeare: The Sonnets” at the Wareham Free Library at 6:30 p.m., 59 Marion Road
Admission to the event is free and will be held outside.
