Three finalists announced in superintendent search
The Wareham School Committee's Superintendent Search Committee has narrowed down three finalists to be considered for superintendancy in the district following current Superintendent Matt D’Andrea's retirement at the end of the school year.
The search committee is made up of 13 individuals, representing different groups within the community chaired by school committee member Kevin Brogioli. Three candidates were advanced as finalists, none of which have previously held superintendent positons.

The search committee partnered with the Massachusetts Association of School Committees to start the search under Field Director Sean Costello. Costello said in the Monday, Nov. 3 school committee meeting that there was great care to review every candidate for the position.
"There was quite a robust conversation when determining finalists," he said.
In a closed sessionCostello provided the search committee members with a rubric used to rate each question the semifinalists answered.
"There was a vote and then a discussion on where we were at, and then another vote and a discussion on where we were at until you had three candidates receiving the majority vote," Costello said.
Costello said that the district has a strong group of finalists with site visits to each candidates current school planned starting Tuesday, Nov. 4 through Thursday, Nov. 6.
From 2:45 to 3:45 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4 and Thursday, Nov. 6 those interested in speaking to the candidates can attend a meet and greet in the Wareham High School library at 7 Viking Drive.
