Wareham man arrested on fentanyl, cocaine trafficking charges

Police arrested a 37-year-old Wareham man Friday, Feb. 20 after serving a narcotics search warrant at a residence in town.
The Wareham Police Department Criminal Investigation Division with its Patrol Division, the Plymouth Police Department K-9 Unit and the Massachusetts State Police, arrested Taylor Fernandes following a joint investigation.
Large quantities of suspected fentanyl, cocaine and pills, as well as drug paraphernalia and cash were seized during the operation.
Fernandes is charged with trafficking fentanyl, trafficking cocaine and trafficking heroin, morphine and opium. He is scheduled to be arraigned Monday Feb. 23 in Wareham District Court with bail set at $2,500.
Police Chief Walter Correia Jr. praised the multi-agency effort, saying it removed potentially lethal drugs from the streets.
