Throwback fun coming to Main Street
Where there once sat an engine shop and a steakhouse on Main Street, will soon host a bar and restaurant that aims to take customers back in time to the ’80s and ’90s with a fully functioning arcade decked out with retro inspired decor called RWND.
RWND (pronounced Rewind) owner Phil Warren is aiming to "create an extremely fun atmosphere for people of all ages and to try and breathe some life back into Main Street."
Warren recognized how RWND could impact night life and benefit the local economy.
"For the late night scene I think it would be great for the town to have an awesome attraction with something fun to do that people might want to come from other towns to experience," said Warren. "It's going to be great for bringing a lot of business into the town."
Not only does Warren believe RWND will impact the night life but he wants to provide entertainment for families during the day too.
"During the day I think it's going to give a great option for families to get out of the house and do something fun together that's a little bit different," he added.
According to Warren in a press release, the vision came to be during the pandemic while he was on a trip to the arcade with his son. Warren noticed it helped his son overcome public anxieties and this made him want to explore the possibility of opening his own bar and arcade.
RWND will feature a large dining room where guests can enjoy American classics like pizza and smash burgers as well as a number of contemporary Asian inspired dishes.
"I've always viewed this project as a restaurant first that happens to have an awesome bar experience and also happens to have a retro arcade," said Warren. "I've always been attracted to the idea of taking American comfort favorites and elevating them to something really fun and really high quality."
Along with the dining room, there will be a 20-stool bar and a walk-up bar to go with the retro arcade. The arcade will feature a rotating selection of classic arcade and pinball games for guests to enjoy with the purchase of a wristband.
With the goal of creating an entertainment atmosphere for people of all ages. Warren said there will be designated family friendly hours and 21+ hours for the arcade.
Warren said he is hoping to host seasonal brunches for families as well as live music once RWND is open.
Tentatively, Warren is hoping RWND will be open to the public in the first quarter of 2025.
