Timothy Francis Walsh, 74

Apr 5, 2023

WAREHAM - Timothy Francis Walsh was born at St. Margaret’s Hospital, Dorchester on June 27, 1948. Tim died peacefully at home on April 3, 2023.

He went by the names Tim, Timmy and “Tim Dog”(way before Snoop Dogg). There was an artist called “Tim Dog” and when Tim was sent a copy of the artist’s cassette, Tim sent it right back as it was filled with offensive language. That was our Timmy, he never missed Sunday Mass, issued a curse word, and was almost a saint. He was a very private person but would not suffer fools. He would give you his opinion straight up, and you had better have a strong case or you were not getting anywhere with him.

Tim was the son of Timothy Francis Walsh (Helen Murphy), brother of John Francis Walsh (Sheila), Naples, NY; brother of Joanne Ellen Roby North Kingstown, RI; brother of James Edwards Walsh of Pembroke, MA, and many nephews and nieces who really loved him, and he they.

He really enjoyed occasions where food was involved, for which made the famous “Timmy Plate.” Tim joined the Navy after Wareham High School, and one of his favorite memories was serving on the USS Enterprise retrieving the capsule returning to Pacific waters from its journey to the moon. Tim learned a lot in these years in the Navy, especially mechanical training which served him well throughout his working years. In addition, he was a carpenter, a plumber, an electrician, a painter, and an excellent landscaper - with every project you got the very best from him. Tim was also a great athlete, especially in road racing, bike racing and tennis. He was on his own out there, and he learned to survive. We will all miss Timmy, Tim, Tim Dog - we wish he let us inside his world, but it wasn’t going to happen. It was none of “you all’s” business.

Tim is survived by his brothers, James E. Walsh of Pembroke and John Walsh of Naples, NY; his sister, Joanne Roby of N. Kingstown, RI; and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Monday, April 10, 2023 at Chapman Funerals and Cremations – Wareham, 2599 Cranberry Hwy. (Rt. 28), Wareham from 4 – 7 PM.
