Town committee openings

The Town of Wareham is looking to fill vacancies on the Capital Planning Committee, the Finance Committee, and the Fields and Grounds Committee.

The Capital Planning Committee is responsible for a capital outlay program for the town and studies, reviews, and reports its recommendations on any articles concerning aspects of this program which come before Town Meeting. There is one vacancy with a term of three years.

The Finance Committee considers and gives recommendation on all matters of business within the articles of any warrant of the town meeting relating to the appropriation of money, or which would entail an expense upon the Town. There is one vacancy with a term of three years.

The Fields and Grounds Committee was established by Town Meeting in 1995 to coordinate and plan for the maintenance of existing playing fields and prioritize the addition of new facilities. There are seven members appointed to this committee. Two members are appointed by the Superintendent of Schools, two members are appointed by the Town Administrator and three at-large members representing an organization which uses the fields are appointed by the Appointing Authority.

Applications are available at the Board of Selectmen's office or on the town web site.  Interviews for the Fields and Grounds committee will be held on July 26.
