Town Meeting gives Land Trust $48,000 to purchase conservation land

Town Meeting unanimously voted to give $48,000 in Community Preservation Act funds to the Wareham Land Trust, allowing it to purchase 12 acres of conservation land near Red Brook Road. The land will be used to unite a series of abandoned walking trails on property owned by the Land Trust and the Onset Water District.
Land Trust Treasurer Nancy McHale said “I like woods,” quoting the answer that Richard Sawyer, the land’s previous owner, gave when asked why he purchased the parcel.
