Is the town moving forward with Mark Andrews?

To the Editor:

Is the town moving forward with Mark Andrews?

The fiasco with the town accountant continues. This will probably end up with the town paying off "Biz" and a lawsuit against Andrews.

The Council on Aging ex-leader was paid to stay home, then hired for some fictitious job that wasn't advertised.

How about the ongoing saga of Myles Burke? His job was advertised at $51,491. He was hired at $75,000 and is now being paid $83,000. He is still not certified to be a Building Commissioner. And one has to pass five tests after becoming certified.

We're over-paying our new Police Chief at a rate of $167,000 per year plus benefits. He might be OK as the Police Chief, but the previous board gave him carte blanche, and by doing that, they made him look like a superstar.

What is the result of the ridiculous wasteful computer audit, Mr. Andrews? The town spent approximately $75,000 and not one person was reprimanded.

Where is the Community and Economic Development Authority director? We've had one year without one.

What's going on with downtown revitalization? Oh yeah, the leadership team will take care of that.

Andrews hires our new town attorneys that had given the highest bid. Now that's showing intelligence.

The following has little to with Mark Andrews, but with the people who hired him and who backed three of the Selectmen who are presently on the board:

  • Paid off Ted Misiaszek
  • Paid back $20,000 to employees
  • Paid off John McAuliffe
  • Lawsuit with Library Trustees, paid $40,000 for their legal fees
  • Audit $75,000 and counting (no results)
  • Legal bills from 2007 to 2009 $1,000,000
  • Paid off Bob Bliss
  • Paid off Don Bliss

There is a common denominator involved in everything above. If this is moving Wareham forward... thanks, but no thanks.
