Town seeking digital access feedback

Jul 24, 2023

Wareham is undergoing the process of preparing a Digital Equity Plan based on public feedback and with assistance from local and regional stakeholders.

Digital equity is about ensuring individuals and families in the community have access to the internet and related devices that are necessary to fully participate in society, democracy and the economy.

This is a six-month-long planning process that requires collaboration and engagement with the community, whether through survey feedback, public meetings or pop-up events.

Based on these results, the town can prepare a shared vision statement, develop goals that support that vision, identify specific recommendations and projects as well as create an implementation plan.

The first step is public feedback, which can be as simple as filling out the Massachusetts Statewide Digital Equity Survey.

The results of this survey will ensure the Massachusetts Broadband Institute has a clear understanding of the town’s needs in order to develop a comprehensive plan that will ensure digital access for residents.
