The Town of Wareham is working with Vanasse Hangen Brustlin, Inc., an engineer design company, to develop a Digital Equity Plan, which will be presented in discussed in a public meeting.

The meeting will take place at the Town Hall auditorium at 54 Marion Road Wednesday, Nov. 15. The meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m. and end at 7:30 p.m. There is also a Zoom option for those looking to attend remotely: bit.ly/WarehamDigital1

Digital equity is about ensuring individuals and families in the community have access to the internet and related devices that are necessary to fully participate in society, democracy and the economy.

This is a six-month-long planning process that requires collaboration and engagement with the community, whether through survey feedback, public meetings or pop-up events.

Based on these results, the town can prepare a shared vision statement, develop goals that support that vision, identify specific recommendations and projects as well as create an implementation plan.

However, the first step is feedback. This  will be the first of two public meetings that will be held on this subject. Residents will receive an overview of the planning process and have the opportunity to provide feedback.
