Trash compactors have available advertising space

Oct 18, 2017

Bigbelly trash compactors are the new spot in town to advertise, as Town Administrator Derek Sullivan is looking for local businesses to get their ads on the sides of the 150 gallon compactors in Wareham and Onset.

Political ads or controversial material won’t be accepted, however. A zoning bylaw prohibits political signs on town property, Sullivan said at Tuesday’s Selectmen meeting. Sullivan said he’d like “simple” things on the trash compactors, but believes they will provide a good location for local businesses to advertise.

There are five Bigbelly trash compactors on Main Street and four in Onset, all installed in August.
