Tune in or stop by VFW now for WCTV Live Auction
The third annual WCTV Live Auction and Entertainment -- benefiting the Wareham Village Association and Onset Youth Center -- is happening now and will go until 12 a.m.
See the action live at the Dudley L. Brown VFW in Onset or watch WCTV (Comcast channel 9, Verizon channel 30, streaming on www.warehamtv.org) to bid on items from guitars to photography.
WCTV Live Auction and Entertainment Chair Sally Morrison is buzzing around the station's satellite "studio" with comedian and emcee Scott Record and representatives from WCTV's nonprofit partners. Tune in to see the items!
"It's just a great way for us to give back to the community and help some nonprofits that need help," WCTV Executive Director Jay Heard said after taking a break from manning one of the cameras.
The Wareham Village Association sponsors various community events, including the annual Swan Festival in downtown Wareham and the Christmas parade.
Onset Youth Center volunteers are working hard to raise funding to get their building off the ground.
Proceeds raised from the auction be split between the nonprofits. WCTV does not derive any of its operating funding from the auction, Heard said.
