Two drivers arrested for operating under the influence of alcohol following crash
Two drivers were arrested by the Wareham Police Department for operating under the influence of alcohol around 1:15 a.m. Friday, Dec. 2 after a car accident at the traffic light at Sandwich Road and Cranberry Highway.
The two vehicles sustained damage indicating that one vehicle approaching the traffic light on Sandwich Road rear-ended the vehicle stopped at the traffic light, according to police. There were no reported injuries and both operators were the sole occupants of their respective vehicles.
Wareham Police Officer Nathan Aronson, after investigating the incident, determined that both operators involved in the accident had been drinking, police said. Both operators were placed under arrest at the scene and charged with operating under the influence of alcohol.
According to police, Marc Charette, 25, of 66 Mayflower Ave. in East Wareham was also charged with operating to endanger. Stephanie Curran, 23, of 14 Meadow Lane, Bridgewater, was also charged with operating to endanger and failure to use care in stopping.
Both operators were held at the Wareham Police Department and arraigned on Dec. 2 at Wareham District Court.
