Two Fall River men arrested for theft of tips

Dec 19, 2012

No wonder they say no good deed goes unpunished.

After a Wareham resident put envelopes with cash and gift cards on the outdoor trash barrels -- tips for the people who haul it away -- the envelopes were stolen.

The Wareham Police Department received a call at approximately 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18, and learned that two men in the Swifts Beach Road area were removing the envelopes from the trash cans.

Officers located the silver Volkswagen Jetta that a witness had reported seeing the men traveling in, according to police. Albert Crepeau, 32, and Joshua Hands, 31, both of Fall River, admitted to police that they’d taken the envelopes, police said.

A search of the car revealed torn envelopes, money, and gift cards. Both men were arrested and charged with larceny under $250, according to police.
