Feb 15, 2011

Two females were injured after the vehicles they were traveling in collided on Cranberry Highway in East Wareham just after 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The identity of the victims and the extent of their injuries could not be immediately confirmed. Both were transported to Tobey Hospital by Wareham EMS, said Onset Fire Department Deputy Jeffrey Osswald.

The two-car crash closed the stretch of Cranberry Highway from Main Avenue to Red Brook Road for roughly half an hour as crews worked to clear the scene, Osswald said. The department assisted with the injuries and hazard clean-up.

The cause of the accident is currently unclear.
