UPDATE: Two students suffer minor injuries after ambulance hits Wareham school bus
Two students were taken to Tobey Hospital with minor injuries on Monday after an EasCare ambulance hit a Wareham school bus traveling on Main Street just before 5 p.m.
The injured students suffered neck pain, said Wareham Police Lt. Kevin Walsh.
The driver of the ambulance was ticketed for a stop sign violation -- failure to grant the right of way, Walsh confirmed. EasCare Ambulance is a private company based in Dorchester.
Transportation Director Jeff Tatro said there were four students in total on the bus, which was transporting from an after-school program at Wareham Middle School.
Tatro said that there does not appear to be any significant damage to the bus. Walsh said there was only minor damage to both vehicles.
Wareham EMS, Wareham Fire, and Wareham Police were on scene.
Wareham Week will update this story when details become available.
