Mar 30, 2015

The four Wareham residents who were killed in action in the Vietnam War were honored and remembered at the annual Vietnam Veterans Day PFC Carlos James Rose Memorial Brunch on Saturday, March 28 at the Onset VFW on Gibbs Ballpark Road.

Rose was a 20-year-old private first class in the U.S. Marine Corps. An Onset native, Rose had two brothers and a sister and was raised by his Aunt Mary and Uncle Frank after both of his parents died when he was 10.

Rose was killed in action on May 12, 1969 at Hamburg Hill in Vietnam. The other three Wareham veterans honored at the event were Richard Arruda, Ronald Bumpus and James Crowley.

Proceeds from the event went to the Onset VFW Post relief fund.
