Vikings boys basketball moves on to second round in state tournament

High school basketball playoffs are underway and the Wareham High School Vikings started their state title defense with a win against Tech Boston Academy in the first round.

The game was played Friday, Feb. 28 at the Madison Park High School gym in Boston and the Vikings won by a score of 64 to 48.

The Vikings are coming off back-to-back state championships and despite having graduated many players, the now young Vikings team secured the 17 seed in the tournament after finishing the regular season with 11 wins and 11 losses.

The Vikings are now in the round of 16 and are taking on number one seed Albert D. Holland School of Technology Tuesday, March 4 at 7 p.m. at the Madison Park Boston gym.
