Virginia Baker, 92

Virginia M. Baker, 92, died peacefully at her residence in Middleboro. Ginny was born and raised in Taunton the daughter of Howard and Mildred (Melanson) Briggs Sr. She is preceded by her husband Lester S. Baker. Ginny is survived by four sons, Malcolm, Douglas, Hollis, and Carlton Baker all of Wareham, several great and grandchildren, nieces and nephews and her brother John Briggs of California.

Ginny attended St. Mary’s School, Taunton High School and Business school at night. She attended the Nazarene Church in Wareham where she loved being a greeter. Her love for the Bible and her Savior were a part of her everyday life.  Ginny enjoyed crafts, painting and wrote free-lance articles for Doll & Craft Magazine. She loved sports especially the Red Sox and tennis. Ginny will be remembered for her love of family and friends always keeping in touch by hand written cards/letters. Her sense of humor was with her right up to the end of her life. She is well loved and will be greatly missed.

A graveside service was held on Dec. 7.
