Virginia P. (Mussulli) Maietta, 83, died Wednesday, May 19, 2010 in Middleboro after a determined battle against lung cancer. She was the wife of the late Anthony L. Maietta.

Born and raised in Milford, she was the daughter of the late Matthew and Catherine (Sacco) Mussulli. A resident of Milford for 41 years, she moved to Wareham in 1968. Mrs. Maietta worked as an assembler for the Sippican Corp. in Marion.

She was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church in Wareham and was a volunteer at the Forestview Nursing Home in Wareham.

Survivors include her son Dennis Maietta and his wife Anita, of Middleboro; her daughter Denise Maietta, of Plymouth; her brother Matthew Mussulli, Jr., of Milford; her sister Ann Sangervasi, of Nashville, TN; and two grandchildren, Sofia and Antonio Maietta.

Her funeral will be Monday, May 24 from the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway (Rt. 28), Wareham at 10 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick's Church, High St., Wareham at 11 a.m. Interment will be private.
