Walk for Hunger steps out on May 7
The eighth annual Greater Wareham Walk for Hunger is scheduled for Sunday, May 7, beginning at 1 p.m. Registration is from noon to 12:45 p.m. The Walk for Hunger raises money for Project Bread, a nonprofit organization dedicated to alleviating, preventing, and ultimately ending hunger in Massachusetts.
For over four decades, Project Bread has been committed to meeting the needs of people who struggle to put food on the table and to funding long-term solutions to the problem of hunger.
Last year’s Walk for Hunger raised approximately $10,000 and attracted more than 100 participants. The five mile course begins at the Church of the Good Shepherd and proceeds down Sandwich Road, to Depot Street, then to Minot Avenue, before returning to the church.
To participate, pick up a sponsor form at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 74 High St. or download one online at www.goodshepherdwareham.org.
