Wareham, Barnstable police locate and arrest shooting suspect
Wareham officers assisted Barnstable Police in locating a 22-year-old suspect with an active arrest warrant for Assault with intent to Murder on Wednesday, July 26, according to the Wareham Police Department.
During a motor vehicle stop, police arrested Marckell Gordon of Centerville and placed him into custody without incident.
Along with Gordon, two men were arrested during the stop.
Police seized a .380 firearm, approximately 23 grams of what is suspected to be Fentanyl as well as U.S. currency.
Guilherme Jalo, 21, of Wareham had an outstanding arrest warrant from the Wareham District Court for an incident that occurred in town in July 2022.
The charges include carrying without a license, possession of ammunition and carrying a loaded firearm.
Zavain Alvarez, 20, of Hyannis was charged with carrying without a license, possession of a firearm with a defaced serial number, possession of ammunition without a license and for trafficking Fentanyl.
While Gordon will be arraigned at Barnstable District Court, Jalo and Alvarez will be arraigned at Wareham District Court, according to Wareham Police.
Chief Walter Correia commended the two departments' collaboration and the officers involved for taking potentially lethal drugs and a firearm off the streets of Wareham.
