Wareham Council on Aging’s January activities

The Wareham Council on Aging announced several events happening in January. All events will be held at the Multi-Service Center, located at 48 Marion Road, unless noted otherwise.

Blood drive

On Monday, Jan. 7, from 2 to 7 p.m. the Red Cross will be at the Council on Aging for a blood drive.  The drive is for all donors, but Group O is especially needed.

Decorative painting class

A decorative painting class held over four weeks starts on Thursday, Jan. 10, at 1 p.m. Cost is $20 and payment must be received by Jan. 8. All materials will be provided. Professional artist Dinah Clark will lead the classes.

Minot Forest chorus program

On Thursday, Jan. 17 at 1:15 p.m., the Fourth Grade Minot Forest Chorus will present a musical program. Refreshments, created by the high school’s culinary arts students, will be served.

Winter luau

On Thursday, Jan. 24, the Council on Aging will host a winter luau at 11:30 a.m. in the Community Room. The menu consists of sweet and sour chicken, fried rice, oriental veggie medley, lemon cream cake and a fortune cookie. Jimmy Brito will provide the entertainment. Make reservation a few days ahead by calling 508-291-3100 ext. 6514. A donation of $2.50 is suggested.
