Starting in 1978, John Beaulieu has taught music in Wareham, working in five different schools during that time. On Wednesday, the longtime educator was honored by the Wareham School Committee and administrators.

“For 40 years of longevity, energy, charisma and positivity, we can’t thank you enough for your dedication to our schools,” said Decas Elementary School Interim Principal Bethany Chandler.

Beaulieu was hired as music teacher in Wareham High School. He then worked as an instrumental teacher in the elementary schools. Beaulieu said he will be retiring, but plans to work as a mentor in the schools.
