The Wareham Fire District will be holding a special meeting at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 13.

There are several items on the warrant: two related to the purchase of a new pumper tanker and one related to a labor claim against the district.

After electing a moderator to run the meeting, voters will be asked to approve transferring just under $2,500 from a bond premium to supplement the $409,000 grant the district received to purchase a new pumper tanker truck. The second article asks voters to transfer roughly $11,400 from available funds for the same purpose.

“Basically, the district is getting a brand new truck for $65,000,” said Chief Matt Rowley.

The last item on the warrant asks voters to approve funding a $32,000 court-ordered lump sum settlement related to a labor claim against the district. According to the warrant, the settlement was reached on Oct. 28.

The meeting will be held at the district’s Station 2, located at 2368 Cranberry Highway in West Wareham.

The full warrant is attached to this article.
