Wareham Fire District holds Candidates Night, announces annual meeting
The Wareham Fire District will host Candidates Night on Wednesday, April 6 at 7 p.m. at the Wareham Water Department, located at 2550 Cranberry Highway. Attendees will have the opportunity ask questions of the candidates running in the fire district election, which is scheduled for April 16 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Wareham Water Department.
On the ballot will be one three-year term on the Prudential Committee and one three-year term on the Board of Water Commissioners.
Prudential Committee candidate Richard England is challenging incumbent Kenneth Baptiste. No candidates returned nomination papers for the vacant spot on the Board of Water Commissioners.
The Wareham Fire District will host its annual district meeting on Monday, April 11, at 7 p.m. at the Wareham High School auditorium, located at 7 Viking Drive.
In addition to budgetary housekeeping articles, the warrant includes a number of bylaw changes and asks voters to approve the use of funding for Wareham Fire Department equipment, including a new fire engine and technical rescue equipment.
