Wareham Fire District kicks off National Drinking Water Week
Kicking off National Drinking Water Week (May 1-7), the Wareham Fire Department Water Department, along with the American Water Works Association and water community partners, will recognize the role water plays in our daily lives and quality of life.
“Water Week is a wonderful way to celebrate the value of water,” said Water Department Superintendent Andrew Reid. “The Water Department is constantly looking for ways to better protect and improve our water supply, and events like this are a great way to highlight these initiatives, stress the importance of water conservation, and connect with the Wareham residents.”
To commemorate the week, the Wareham Fire District, including both the Fire and Water Departments, will have an information table, a touch-a-fire truck event, and free “Protect & Conserve” giveaways at the Oyster Festival on Sunday, May 1, from 10 a.m. to 5pm. Department staff will be on hand at the fire station (273 Main St.) to answer water questions and provide residents with information on how water consumers can understand, protect and conserve their water.
The Water Department will kick off its new “Protect & Conserve” water campaign and organizational Facebook Page (Wareham Water).
