Wareham Food Pantries and Meal Programs serve Thousands in 2010

Apr 7, 2011

During the year 2010, Wareham food pantries and meal program were acessed over 42,000 times.  This means that there were 42,000 times that someone was food insecure, not knowing where their next meal would come from. Some use the food pantry once, others depend on it regularly. Some have need of a meal once a month, others daily.  It is difficult to be in a position where you are forced to make decisions such as do I buy shoes for my child; or do I buy food?

It happens way too often for us to turn a blind eye to the problem and the Second Annual Greater Wareham Walk For Hunger is a local effort determined to help provide food for those in need.  Won't you consider joining us on Sunday afternoon, May 1st as we walk to raise funds and awareness on hunger in the Greater Wareham area. For further information please go to the church website at www.cbcmarion.org and click on the "Walk for Hunger" link.
