Wareham Garden Club hands out awards for recent show

The flowers outside are just starting to appear, but at a recent show of the Wareham Garden Club, the flowers were in full bloom.
At the show, which was held from March 25-29, several members were awarded for their presentations, including:
- Sylvia Strand, who won first place for her Day 2 Entry “Reawakening." She also won two top show awards: The Marie Hancock Cook Certificate of Merit given to the Blue Ribbon entry receiving the highest number of points in a class of traditional design, and The Clare L. Richards Award given to the entry that best exemplifies the sensitive use of color.
- Kathleen Coyle won first place for her Day 2 Entry “Metamorphosis” as well as being presented with the Tricolor Award for scoring 95 or more points.
- Yvonne Capella won second place for her Day 1 Entry “Metamorphosis," and Marissa McCoy won third place for her Day 1 Entry “Reawakening."
The Garden Club is planning a small standard flower show entitled “Fantasia” on Thursday, May 14 from 1:30 to 4 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Church Hall. The public is welcome to attend.
