Wareham High delivers food to Damien’s Place food pantry
Wareham High School’s Code Club delivered more than 1,500 nonperishable food items to Damien’s Place food pantry in East Wareham on Tuesday, November 26, following the club’s annual joint food drive with the 99 Restaurant.
Almost all of the community-service club’s 25 students helped load Principal Scott Palladino’s truck at the school’s loading dock with the 1,300 items the high school collected during the November drive.
The students, Code Club Advisor Pam Franklin, and Principal Palladino traveled to the 99 Restaurant to pick up the 200 items its employees rounded up.
With Palladino’s truck full, the group made its way to Damien’s Place for the delivery – just in time for Thanksgiving.
Damien’s Place workers thanked the school profusely for its help.
