Wareham High Key Club holds clothing drive for the homeless
Some students at Wareham High are making sure the homeless stay warm this winter.
In January, the school's Key Club held a successful clothing drive in the month of January, complete with socks, hats, and gloves for those in need. The drive was completely student-led.
The drive was held under the student leadership of Key Club President Zariah Lima, Vice-President Julia Fluegel, Secretary Indigo Leighton, Treasurer Emily Chambers, and Editor Alex Atkinson.
"The group collected a large supply of the winter items from many generous donors throughout the high school," said Key Club Advisor Matt Stanton. "This is the latest of many community service events the Wareham High Key Club has conducted in its inaugural year."
The items were then delivered to St Patrick's Church in Wareham just prior to the recent snow storm.
Key Club International is the world's oldest and largest service program for High School Students, and is affiliated with the Bourne-Wareham Kiwanis Club.
