To the Wareham High School class of 2012
I would like to congratulate all of you and tell you how very proud I am of all of you.
Time flies like a jet. Some or most of you have been together since kindergarten. I have fond memories from Decas School whether it was field day, the field trips, volunteering at the school, or having lunch in the cafeteria with some of you.
You have what it takes to succeed and when you were born, you came into the world as a whole person not wearing any clothes. I want you to hold on to that. Love, hope, faith, courage, drive, determination, and perseverance will take you where you need to go. You are strong, intelligent, kind, caring, loving individuals and are an inspiration to us all.
You will face many challenges and have many ups and downs. Remember, it’s not how many times you fall down, but how many times you get up.
Each of you are unique in your own way, so go out and share your time, talents, experiences and love with the world.
Remember when you were in “Destination Imagination.” We sat back and watched you on stage acting out your parts. Reverse the roles and picture yourselves sitting in the audience. Ask yourselves what type of life you would imagine yours to be and what type of legacy would you like to leave.
When someone does something nice for you, pay it forward to someone else, especially those in need.
Thank your parents, grandparents, family, friends, teachers, mentors, and anyone else along the way who has helped you in one way or another. Look forward to new beginnings and new chapters in your lives. You have grown up to be fine young adults and you make the world a better place to be in and live in.
It’s a bittersweet time for your parents and families, but look where you are now. I am blessed to be a part of your life and to have learned so much from you. I wish all of you the best of luck, best wishes, and great success with your future endeavors. Take care and God bless all of you.
