Wareham High School students to say 'ciao' to Italy in 2015.

Dec 20, 2013

“Parla inglese?”

This question, asking if one speaks English in Italian, may be used often by some Wareham High School students in 2015. They will be traveling to Italy that April.

The destination was selected by the students, and they will be seeing Milan, Rome, Venice, Florence and Pompeii. The trip was approved by the School Committee on Dec. 4.

“Something tells me you didn’t need to twist anyone’s arm to be a chaperone,” School Committee member Kenneth Fontes joked.

At present, 24 to 30 students are interested in joining the trip. Nineteen are committed.

The trip will be open to incoming Freshmen presently at Wareham Middle School.

The trip will cost students $2943 if they sign up by Jan. 31, and $200 more after that date. Additionally, if students have traveled with the tour group -- EF Tours -- before, they can save an extra $100. This is possible because the school has used the tour group in recent years.
