Wareham Land Trust sponsors Marion-born climatologist's presentation

Jan 6, 2014

For those who found Al Gore’s “an Inconvenient Truth” to a be an intriguing documentary on a critical subject, the Wareham Land Trust will be sponsoring a climatologist at the Wareham Library.

Climatologist Jennifer Francis, PhD, will be presenting “Wacky Weather and Disappearing Artic Sea Ice: is there a connection?” on Sat., Jan. 18, from 10 a.m. until noon at the Wareham Free Library.

Francis is presently a research professor with Rutgers University’s Institute of Marine and Coastal Sciences, and studies Artic climate change and Artic-global climate linkages.

Francis was also born and raised in Marion.

She has taught courses in satellite remote sensing and climate-change issues.

The event is free, and refreshments will be provided.

Again, the event is sponsored by the Wareham Land Trust. Its phone number is 508-295-0211.
