Wareham Library Foundation receives $2,500 grant from TD Charitable Foundation
The Wareham Library Foundation recently received a $2500 grant from the TD Charitable Foundation, the charitable giving arm of TD Bank, to support Reading Partners, the adult education program at the Wareham Free Library.
Reading Partners volunteer tutors work with out-of-school youth and adults to improve reading and writing, English, and computer skills. Help is also available for high school equivalency test preparation and other exams. The program has continued without funding since January, so this grant is very helpful.
The TD Charitable Foundation is the charitable giving arm of TD Bank, and is one of the 10 largest commercial banking organizations in the United States.
The Foundation’s mission is to serve the individuals, families and businesses in all the communities where TD Bank operates, having made more than $157 million in charitable donations since its inception in 2002.
The Foundation’s areas of focus are affordable housing, financial literacy and education, and the environment. More information on the TD Charitable Foundation, including an online grant application, is available at www.TDBank.com.
Reading Partners welcomes new students and volunteer tutors. Those interested can email or call: readingpartners@gmail.com or 508-295- 2343 x1018.
