Wareham middle schoolers have talent
Whoops, cheers, hollers, and even some snaps greeted the performers of the Wareham Middle School talent show.
The school auditorium, packed to capacity with parents, grandparents, and children, saw nine performances Monday night that ranged from singing to dancing, and even solving a Rubik's cube.
Jordan DeMedeiros solved two different Rubik's cubes in one minute, 19 second and change. He solved the traditional three-by-three Rubik's cube, and what he termed “it’s little brother, the two-by-two.”
“A lot of people think that, when you solve it, you want to solve one side at a time,” DeMedeiros said, as he solved the scrambled Rubik's cubes. “Actually, you want to be solving it one layer at a time.”
Other acts included Roberto Sandoval, who performed a rap he wrote himself, and Nikolas Daher and Colton Rasmussen, who performed “Smoke on the Water.”
Middle School principal Daniel Minkle said that, though there had been talent shows throughout the years, this was only the second year the School Council had hosted it.
“We have no shortage of talent at Wareham Middle School, and, at this age, kids love to transmit,” Minkle said. “They are fearless.”
Sandoval came in third, Gabby Theodore came in second, performing "Cups", and Daher and Rasmussen came in first in the show.
