Wareham Police make 5 OUI-related arrests on Memorial Day weekend

A roll over, a sideswipe and a curb jump were among the accidents that ended in the arrest of five people charged with operating under the influence this weekend.

Wareham Police arrested Clinton Dagostino Jr., 22, of Middleboro on May 27 after his vehicle veered off Glen Charlie Road.

According to police, Dagostino was alone in the vehicle when it rolled onto its side at approximately 9:30 p.m. Dagostino was transported to Tobey Hospital with minor injuries, police said. Officer Charles Pillsbury charged Dagostino with operating under the influence and operating to endanger.

Later that night, police arrested 26-year-old Stephanie Mickiewicz of Bourne after she allegedly struck a sidewalk on Route 6 near Burger King at approximately 10:30 p.m.

Police said Sgt. Peter Flannery saw Mickiewicz’s vehicle swerve, narrowly missing a telephone pole. According to police, two of Mickiewicz’s tires were flattened after she ran over a curb.

Police charged Mickiewicz with operating under the influence, negligent operation and marked lanes violation.

Sunday brought two arrests.

At approximately 12:40 a.m., Tyler Nichols, 24, of Framingham was arrested after police observed his vehicle swerve then strike a curb on Sandwich Road.

Officer Eric Machado charged Nichols with operating under the influence, negligent operation and marked lanes violation.

Police also arrested an East Wareham man following an accident that left a motorcyclist in critical condition. For more on the story, click here.

On May 30, police arrested 34-year-old David Botelho of New Bedford after his vehicle allegedly sideswiped another at approximately 4:30 p.m. on Glen Charlie Road. According to police, Botelho fled the scene, but was stopped on Route 25 by Officer Nate Aronson soon after.

Police charged Botelho with operating under the influence, operating to endanger and leaving the scene of property damage.

All five were scheduled to be arraigned in Wareham District Court on May 31.
